Supported playgroup runs every Friday of school term at the Family Day Care Playroom (under Lawson Library) Cnr San Jose Ave and Loftus Street, Lawson.

Parenting Young is a group of agencies networking together to promote the wellbeing of young parents up to the age of 24 and their children.

The agencies other than Mountains Outreach Community Service who are vital in the delivery of the project include:

  • Blue Mountains Womens Health and Resource Centre
  • Blue Mountains Youth Accommodation and Support Service
  • Connect Child and Family Services
  • Sydney West Area Health Service
  • Centrelink
  • Mountains Youth Support Team
  • Wimlah Women’s and Children’s Refuge and Outreach Service

Some examples of the topics that we might cover in the groups include:

  • Antenatal health
  • Baby and toddler health and development
  • Relationships
  • Early literacy
  • Family Law
  • Sexual health
  • Guiding children’s behaviour
