Unfortunately, we have to announce some changes in MOCS' structure.

We are engaging in a transformation process which will sadly see the formal closure of MMM (Mountains Mobile Minders) and BMOCCS (Blue Mountains Occasional Child Care Service) from 1 July 2022.

Over the next term we will not have sufficient staff to provide Mobile Educators (minders) for many services and Occasional Care will stop its service to the community on 3 June. All of our other early childhood services such as Playgroups, Parenting Young, First Time Parents and community development work will continue as normal.
We have had to make this difficult decision due to the lack of growth in funding from the NSW Department of Education and the recent loss of the SACS supplement, as well as a significant change in the demand for these services, even prior to the pandemic.

We will continue to provide Start Strong Pathway services to families with children under 5 and we will work in line with our social justice vision to respond to the needs of our diverse and changing mountains community.

We look forward to welcoming new families and continuing to work with the families familiar to MOCS in our continuing programs.

Thank you to Cathryn Ferreira and Emily McKay, the BMOCCS team, who we are farewelling with the closure of these services.

If you have any questions about these service closures, please contact hello@mocs.org.au
