Crafternooons
Craft-based peer group for neurodivergent 10-14 year olds.
Description
Crafternoons is a relaxed and neuro-affirming peer support group that utilises creative expression, experimentation and parallel play to form bonds between peers and strengthen social networks.
Crafternoons is non-clinical and doesn't require NDIS funding, reducing barriers to support for undiagnosed neurodivergent young people. We create a sensory-friendly space and respond to the unique strengths and interests of the group.
The group facilitators moderate discussions to encourage safety and model respectful conversations without dictating participants' behaviour.
MOCS comes from a trauma-informed perspective and strives to prioritise inclusive practice while working with young people to build resilience, linking young people with services and connecting them with safe adults.
